Amaechi Picks ADC Presidential Form, Set For Showdown With Atiku

According to reports, Amaechi submitted his presidential nomination forms at the party’s national secretariat on Thursday, officially signaling his entry into the race for the ADC presidential ticket.

Announcing his decision, Amaechi said his ambition is driven by a determination to restore hope, dignity and prosperity to Nigerians while tackling the country’s pressing economic and social challenges.

He stated that his mission is to rebuild Nigeria’s reputation, strengthen national unity, and deliver peace, progress and economic growth to citizens across the country.

Amaechi, who previously belonged to the All Progressives Congress, was among the aspirants who contested the party’s presidential primary ahead of the 2023 general election before parting ways with the ruling party.

His entry into the race sets the stage for a potentially fierce contest within the ADC, where he is expected to compete against former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and other aspirants seeking the party’s presidential nomination.

The ADC has in recent months emerged as a gathering point for several opposition figures and political stakeholders searching for an alternative platform outside Nigeria’s dominant political parties.
