Genevieve Nnaji Expresses Excitement Over joining ‘Wahala’ Cast

After an eight-year break from acting, Nollywood star Genevieve Nnaji has expressed excitement about her return to the screen in the BBC psychological thriller series Wahala.

According to Ireporter Online, the acclaimed actress, whose last film appearance was in the 2018 production Lionheart, described the new project as both compelling and creatively engaging. She noted her enthusiasm about working with the cast and crew, adding that the storyline stands out as intriguing and emotionally rich.

“I’m very happy to be joining ‘Wahala’ and to be working with such a brilliant team. It’s an intriguing story, and I’m excited to be a part of it,” she was quoted as saying.

The six-part drama, set across present-day London and Nigeria, explores the complex lives of four Nigerian-British women as they navigate friendship, ambition, romance, and concealed secrets. The series features an all-female lead cast including Adelayo Adedayo, Deborah Ayorinde, Cush Jumbo, and Susan Wokoma.

Wahala is an adaptation of the bestselling novel by Nikki May and is written by BAFTA-nominated screenwriter Theresa Ikoko.
