According to Ireporter Online, Nigerian singer and songwriter Johnny Drille has described the increasing influence of Artificial Intelligence in music as inevitable, urging creatives to embrace the technology rather than resist its growth.

Drille noted that while concerns persist about maintaining the human touch in music creation, AI will continue to gain prominence as technological innovation advances. He stressed that the real task for artists is to find ways to integrate AI into their creative process without losing originality and emotional depth.

“AI music is going to get more prominent. I think we have to figure out a way to work with AI because I don’t think it’s going anywhere. Technology never goes away, it becomes more prominent,” he said.

He further emphasized the need for balance between innovation and authenticity in the music industry, admitting that it remains unclear how the emotional essence of music can be fully preserved in the AI era, but insisting that adaptation is necessary.

“I don’t know how we are going to figure out the human part of it or how we will retain the human element of music and keep music human, but I think we have to find ways to embrace AI as a tool to help music. It’s inevitable,” he added.

Drawing parallels with past technological shifts in music production, Drille recalled earlier resistance to innovations such as digital recording systems and auto-tune, noting that similar skepticism is now being directed at AI-generated music.

He explained that every major advancement in music history was initially met with criticism, but eventually became widely accepted, suggesting AI will likely follow the same path.

The ongoing global debate around AI in music continues to grow, as artists, producers, and industry stakeholders weigh its implications for creativity, authenticity, and the future of sound production.
