Female Boko Haram Suspect Nabbed By Troops In Borno

According to security reports monitored by Ireporter Online, the suspect, identified as Kellu Abba, was apprehended at a military checkpoint around 8 a.m. on Wednesday while allegedly transporting supplies intended for a suspected insurgent.

Sources familiar with the operation disclosed that the woman, said to be of Kanuri origin and resident in the Lawanti area of Baga town, was intercepted during a security screening. She was reportedly on her way to deliver the items to her son, Modu Mustapha, who is alleged to be operating with terrorist elements within the Dumba axis.

Security sources further revealed that troops recovered four ready-to-use supplementary food packs, two hijabs and a wristwatch from the suspect at the time of her arrest.

The suspect is currently being held by the 196 Amphibious Battalion, where investigations and further security procedures are ongoing.

Military sources also noted that although the security situation across the theatre remains relatively calm, it continues to be unpredictable, with troops maintaining operational readiness and morale in ongoing counter-insurgency efforts.
