Bauchi Man Arrested Over Alleged K!ll!ng Of Grandfather

According to reports made available to journalists, the incident occurred on May 17 when the suspect allegedly attacked the elderly man with a knife, leading to his death.

The spokesperson of the command, Nafiu Abubakar, disclosed in a statement issued on Friday that the matter was reported to the Divisional Police Headquarters in Ganjuwa by a 58-year-old resident of the community.

Police authorities said the suspect was swiftly apprehended following the report, while preliminary investigations have since commenced into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Abubakar stated that no weapon was recovered at the scene, adding that the matter has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Bauchi for further discreet investigation.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, reportedly condemned the killing and assured residents that justice would be pursued in accordance with the law. He also urged members of the public to adopt peaceful means of resolving disputes and promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies.

Meanwhile, troops of Operation Hadin Kai have arrested a 50-year-old woman, identified as Kellu Abba, for allegedly collaborating with Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in Borno State.

Security sources disclosed that the suspect was apprehended at a security checkpoint in Kukawa Local Government Area on Wednesday morning while allegedly transporting supplies to a suspected terrorist.

The woman, said to be a Kanuri resident of the Lawanti area in Baga town, was reportedly conveying items to her son, Modu Mustapha, who is alleged to be operating with terrorist elements within the Dumba axis.
