Yusuf Lawal, a Nigerian professional footballer and son-in-law of late veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that his wife, Kira Taiwo, recently welcomed a baby boy.

According to Ireporter Online, the report had circulated online alleging that Kira gave birth just two days after the death of her father, Ogogo.

However, Lawal has described the claim as false, urging members of the public to disregard the report.

The footballer addressed the issue through a disclaimer shared on his Instagram Story on Wednesday night, simply stating, “This is not true.”

Lawal explained that the viral report had generated several calls and messages from concerned relatives and friends who contacted the family seeking clarification.

He said the family was compelled to publicly address the claim to prevent further spread of misinformation, particularly at a time when they are still mourning the loss of Ogogo.

The footballer appealed to the public to respect the family’s privacy and refrain from sharing unverified information about them.

He noted that the family has been receiving numerous enquiries following the circulation of the report and urged people to verify information before publishing or sharing it online.
