Another Nollywood Actor Battles Cancer Days After Ogogo’s D**th

According to Ireporter Online, the veteran actor made the disclosure in a video shared on Facebook by fellow actor Kunle Afod. In the video, Johunomi recounted how he initially overlooked changes in his health that could have prompted him to seek medical intervention earlier.

The actor revealed that his health challenge began with an unusual change in his urination pattern. He said he noticed that his urine stream had become abnormal, with the flow splitting into different directions rather than coming out normally.

Johunomi admitted that he did not initially take the development seriously, but his condition later deteriorated as he began experiencing difficulty urinating.

He explained that after the problem persisted, he was advised to visit a hospital, where he underwent several tests and scans. According to him, he was eventually referred to the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan for further medical evaluation.

The veteran actor said specialists at the hospital informed him that another cancer test would be required, involving the removal of a portion of his tissue for examination.

Johunomi said he decided to speak publicly about his experience to educate Nigerians about the importance of recognising potential warning signs of cancer and seeking medical attention early.

He expressed regret that his condition might not have progressed to its current stage if he had been more aware of the symptoms from the beginning.

The actor also warned that cancer cases appear to be increasing, urging members of the public not to ignore unusual changes in their health or delay medical consultations.

His disclosure comes shortly after the reported death of veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, who reportedly passed away following a battle with cancer, further drawing attention to the health challenges facing some members of Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
