According to Ireporter Online, the woman said her father repeatedly abused her while presenting the inappropriate relationship as something normal between a husband and wife.

She alleged that the abuse frequently occurred when the two were alone, leaving her frightened and making her dread returning home.

The woman, who described herself as her father’s only child, said she was very close to him while growing up. She explained that she initially interpreted his habit of referring to her as his “wife” as an innocent expression of affection, particularly because her mother occasionally made similar jokes.

However, she said her perception changed when her father allegedly began touching her inappropriately.

Because she was young and did not understand the nature of what was happening, the woman said she initially believed the behaviour was normal.

She alleged that her father later reinforced this belief by telling her that such acts were normal between a husband and wife.

The woman claimed the abuse continued repeatedly whenever her father had an opportunity to be alone with her.

She also recounted an alleged incident involving a teddy bear that she said her father used to intimidate her into remaining silent.

According to her, the teddy bear was a cherished possession given to her by her father. She alleged that whenever she considered raising an alarm or telling her mother about the abuse, her father would stab the teddy bear several times.

She claimed he would then threaten to do the same to her mother if she revealed what was happening.

The woman said the threats were particularly terrifying because of her strong attachment to both her mother and the teddy bear, forcing her to remain silent for years.

She further described how the alleged abuse affected her perception of home, saying the place she should have regarded as safe became somewhere she feared returning to.

“My home became a place that I never wanted to go back to,” she reportedly said.

The woman revealed that her mother never discovered the alleged abuse before her death.

According to her account, her mother had suffered from a recurring illness and died when she was 18 years old.

Following her mother’s death, she said she was left alone with her father, and her ordeal allegedly continued.

The woman claimed that only a few months after burying her mother, she became pregnant by her father.

Her account has drawn attention to the devastating consequences of child sexual abuse, particularly the fear, secrecy and psychological trauma that can prevent victims from speaking out for years.
