Momodu Reacts To Report Of PDP Suspending Campaign Over Atiku, Wike Rift

Dele-Momodu

The Director of Strategic Communications of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council, Dele Momodu, has debunked reports that the party has suspended its campaign over the rift between its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.

Momodu via his verified Instagram handle said the stories are “absolute falsehood” and that the party remains on course with its rallies, and is due to hit Kaduna State next.

“Absolute falsehood…Unlike the APC, which is yet to put its act together, our Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Council has taken off at supersonic speed…See you soon in Kaduna by God’s grace,” Momodu said, while also taking a jibe at the ruling APC.

One of the reports stated that “the campaign rally was suspended at the instance of Atiku, who, party sources said, had drafted three prominent PDP stakeholders to mediate in the standoff between him and the Rivers Governor.”

The report added that the former Nigerian vice president has “drafted a former Senate President, David Mark; a former Rivers Governor, Peter Odili; and a former Delta Governor, James Ibori, as mediators.”
