From Running Mate To Winning Mate: Kashim Shettima Legacies Guarantees Victory For APC
Lecture 107: The Imperatives Of A Balanced Ticket, Tinubu’s Masterstroke As A Case Study.
Guarantee;
Is the provision of a formal assurance, particularly that certain conditions relating to a product, service, or transaction will be met.
Tinubu assured Nigerians that he would give a guarantee in his performance that Nigerians’ expectations would be met, so he ended up choosing the best capable hand based on fair play, exigencies, and competency.
Essentially, every presidential candidate wants to select someone who will assist him in winning the election. Frequently, he seeks someone who will balance the ticket and bring in votes that the candidate would not otherwise receive. He may select someone who can deliver a critical state or region.
If the political configuration is contentious, he may choose someone from the opposing faction or divide to encourage their support in the general election.
If you carefully consider Atiku’s desperate attempts to arm-twist the PDP to enforce a Northern ticket despite a gentleman’s agreement that power should instead rotate to the South, you’ll see why Asiwaju chose Shettima, who also happens to be a Muslim.
Tinubu insisted on choosing from among the best hands as a running mate in order to prevent the fatal ambush by Atiku.
If I may ask , what exactly is the point of running in an election if you don’t end up winning? In my line of work, whenever someone criticizes me, I think to myself, “What is the point of publishing an outstanding post if no one reads it?” So allow them to criticize. I thank God say dem see am read in the first place.
Shettima has evolved from a running mate to a winning mate, and a review of his antecedents demonstrates Tinubu knew exactly what he was doing when he chose Shettima based on competency.
As a governor dealing with the daily threat of Boko Haram, Shettima implemented one of the best educational systems in Nigeria, in Borno State, his schools were excellent, and teachers were rewarded well.
And if Tinubu chose him for sustainability, Shettima comes out on top. I dare anyone to identify a state other than Lagos where the immediate past predecessor is on good terms with his successor. Kwankwaso-Ganduje, Akpabio-Udom, Oshiomhole-Obaseki, Wamakko-Tambuwal, it is every single state VAWULENCE everywhere.
But in this instance, Zulum led the charge in promoting Shettima’s running mate nomination, and his handling of the transition to his administration has been flawless as the Prof has carried on Shettima’s legacies, putting Borno State in close pursuit of Lagos in terms of high-quality development.
The crystal ball predicts a resounding triumph for the dynamic duo, who are a combination of dedicated individuals who have excelled while serving and, most importantly, have established a system of sustainability.
With Tinubu/Shettima, Nigeria would see unprecedented progress, vast infrastructure, high-quality education, appropriate international packaging, a stable naira, the best economy, and so on. Shettima, a young savvy and dependable leader, was a MASTERSTROKE by Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
