267 Micro Projects In Osun Consume N2bn, According To Agency

The General Manager of Community and Social Development Agency in Osun State, Funmi Abokede, on Wednesday, said the state governor, Ademola Adeleke’s administration has spent about N2billon on 267 micro projects across the state.

Abokede disclosed this at a two-day media engagement programme organised by the agency, where she reeled out various achievements of the CSDA under her leadership.

She noted that the funds were made available by Adeleke owing to his interest in the provision of basic infrastructural needs for the rural dwellers in the state.

She said, “Governor Ademola Adeleke has continually been given full support for the execution of micro projects spread across the state. The government has spent about N2 billion on over 267 micro projects across the state. One of the projects is the construction of a Development Centre for People with Disabilities.

“Throughout Nigeria, Osun is the only state that has a Centre for People with Disabilities. We have the centre at Edunabon. Some states have visited Osun to copy the idea.

“Provision of portable water, health facilities, provision of classrooms, among others are some other projects executed.”

Urging the benefitting communities to ensure that the projects were properly maintained, Abokede called on the state government to ensure more funds were appropriated for the agency to implement several other micro-projects in rural areas.
