70% Of Obidient Structure Joins APC, Balami Boasts

According to Ireporter Online, Isaac Balami, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and youth leader, has announced that approximately 70 per cent of the Obidient structure has been integrated into the party. Balami, who previously served as Deputy Campaign Manager for the Obi/Datti presidential campaign under the Labour Party, disclosed the development in a personal statement.

He explained that the move forms part of a broader political realignment aimed at consolidating youth support and strengthening grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 general elections. Balami urged members of the Obidient movement who may be hesitant about joining the APC to take what he described as a “bold and realistic step,” emphasizing that political relevance is closely linked to viable structures.

Balami congratulated the APC’s National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on what he termed a “highly successful and unifying” national convention, noting that Yilwatda’s re-election through a consensus arrangement reflects growing unity and internal stability within the ruling party.

He said, “As part of our commitment to national progress, I am proud to announce the integration of a significant portion of about 70 per cent of the Obidient structure we built over the years into the APC. This is a structure powered by millions of politically conscious and highly mobilised young Nigerians, now aligned with the Renewed Hope agenda.”

Balami added that the organisational experience and discipline demonstrated during the Obi/Datti campaign will now be redirected within the APC to achieve broader national impact. He called on hesitant members to consider the realities of the political system, stating that elections are won not just by passion but by structure, reach, and strategic positioning.

Highlighting inclusivity, Balami commended President Tinubu for creating opportunities for young people and previously underrepresented groups, saying his comments are based on personal engagement and experience. He added that grassroots mobilisation, particularly in Northern Nigeria, will intensify in the coming weeks as part of a strategic alignment to strengthen youth political participation ahead of 2027.
