Gov Oborevwori Reveals Benefits After Quitting PDP For APC

According to Ireporter Online, the Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, has affirmed that his recent defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) is already producing tangible benefits for his state. Speaking after the APC convention at Eagle Square, Abuja, on Friday night, Governor Oborevwori highlighted improvements in revenue allocation and the state government’s ability to pay salaries and fund projects.

The governor explained that the decision to join the ruling party was motivated by a desire to align Delta State with the federal government, which has enhanced access to resources and bolstered governance outcomes. He stated that since his move to the APC on April 28, 2025, the state has witnessed significant financial stability, enabling smoother execution of projects and timely payment of workers and contractors.

Governor Oborevwori further emphasized that other governors have followed his lead, noting that APC now has 31 state governors—a milestone unprecedented since 1999. He praised the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, asserting that ongoing federal policies and programs are yielding positive results for Nigerians, and expressed confidence in the president’s prospects for re-election in 2027.
