Abaribe, Ozekhome, Agbakoba Advocate Political Solution For Nnamdi Kanu’s Release

Calls for Kanu’s unconditional release were widespread before the Supreme Court’s decision, with influential individuals and groups urging affirmation of the appellate court’s verdict.
Kanu, initially arrested in 2015, has been in detention since June 29, 2021, after escaping bail in 2017. Efforts by political leaders, lawyers, human rights activists, and socio-cultural groups are now urging a political solution to bring lasting peace to the Southeast region.
Former Minority Leader Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe expressed the belief that a political solution, driven by national cohesion and unity, could lead to Kanu’s release.
Other figures like Olisa Agbakoba and Mike Ozekhome have also advocated for a political solution, citing the need for a peaceful environment to address broader issues facing the nation.
