ADC National Assistant Secretary Resigns, Dumps Party

The National Assistant Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Hassan Muhammadu, has resigned from his position and announced his immediate withdrawal from the party.

According to Ireporter Online, Muhammadu’s resignation was contained in a letter addressed to the ADC chairman in Bojude Ward, Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe State.

Muhammadu, who also served as the party’s North-East Zonal Secretary, said his decision followed careful consideration.

In the letter, he thanked the ADC and its leadership for giving him the opportunity to serve at both the national and zonal levels before announcing his resignation from all positions within the party.

He also disclosed that copies of the resignation letter had been forwarded to the ADC National Chairman, Senator David Mark, through the North-East Zonal Chairman, Daniel Modu Bwala.

Copies were also sent to the Gombe State leadership of the party, the party leader in the state and other relevant officials within the North-East zonal structure.

Muhammadu is a former Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development in Gombe State.

Meanwhile, sources familiar with the development said the former ADC national officer is expected to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He is also reportedly expected to work with the APC governorship candidate, Dr Jamilu Isiyaku Gwamna, ahead of the forthcoming election.

His resignation marks another political development within the ADC as political parties continue to position themselves ahead of the election.
