Chowdeck CEO, Femi Aluko: Our Riders Earn Average Of ₦100,000 Weekly
Chowdeck CEO Femi Aluko has revealed that delivery riders on the food delivery platform earn an average of ₦100,000 per week, with top-performing riders reportedly making significantly more.
According to Ireporter Online, Aluko made the disclosure during an interview with Channels Television while discussing the earning opportunities available to riders working with the company.
He explained that a rider’s income largely depends on the number of deliveries completed and the distance covered, noting that riders are also paid based on the kilometres they travel.
“Chowdeck riders earn an average of N100,000 per week while staying fit. The best ones make much higher than that. It’s a game of numbers, the more delivery you do, the more you’re able to earn and cover distance and kilometres because they’re also paid by kilometres,” Aluko said.
Reacting to the figure, the interviewer expressed surprise that riders using bicycles could earn about ₦100,000 weekly, which would amount to roughly ₦400,000 in a month.
Aluko confirmed the calculation, but noted that riders also incur expenses while doing the job, including the cost of maintaining their bicycles.
“That’s correct, yeah. Again, it also comes with its own cost, like you have to maintain your bicycles,” he said.
The CEO’s disclosure has drawn attention to the income potential within Nigeria’s growing food delivery sector, particularly for riders whose earnings are influenced by their level of activity and the distances covered.
