According to Ireporter Online, Nigeria international Ademola Lookman has expressed confidence and readiness to make a decisive impact as Atlético Madrid prepare for a high-stakes UEFA Champions League semi-final clash against Arsenal.

Atlético Madrid secured their place in the last four after eliminating FC Barcelona in the quarter-finals, with Lookman playing a key role by netting a crucial goal in the second leg, further underlining his strong European form since joining the Spanish side.

The Super Eagles forward praised the stature of his new club and the quality within the squad, describing Atlético Madrid as one of the biggest teams in world football, filled with elite players competing at the highest level. He also highlighted the positive team spirit and the progress made since his arrival earlier in the year.

Since his January transfer, Lookman has recorded seven goals and four assists across all competitions, earning valuable contributions despite not always starting under manager Diego Simeone. His European pedigree was further established after his historic hat-trick for Atalanta in the UEFA Europa League final in 2024, making him one of the few players in modern history to achieve such a feat in a single European final.

Reflecting on the fixture, Lookman admitted the match carries personal significance due to his upbringing in London and his early footballing days, describing the encounter as special. He added that facing Arsenal at this stage of the Champions League represents a major challenge, stressing that Atlético must be fully prepared for a tough and intense battle as both sides compete for a place in the final.
