Despite Osimhen’s impressive performance for Nigeria throughout the 2023 AFCON, Jose Peseiro’s team fell short against Ivory Coast in the final. Franck Kessie and Sebastien Haller found the net for Ivory Coast, securing their third AFCON trophy.

Although William Troost-Ekong managed to score for the Super Eagles during the match, it wasn’t enough to secure victory.
