Reflecting on the outcome of the match, Musa encouraged Nigerians to maintain the same spirit of unity they demonstrated in supporting the Super Eagles throughout the tournament, even beyond the realm of football.
In a post on X on Monday, the former Leicester City star expressed, “As I ponder our journey in the AFCON tournament, I am overwhelmed with pride for the Nigerian Super Eagles. Although we fell short of clinching the championship, our cohesion on the pitch transcended religious and ethnic disparities, reminding us of football’s ability to unite us. Despite the challenges faced during the game, our team exhibited resilience and determination that resonated with fans nationwide.
“To all our amazing supporters, your unwavering commitment and cheers propelled us to greater heights. Your love for the game and for our nation is truly remarkable. Amidst the economic difficulties we face, let us extend the same unity demonstrated on the football field into every facet of our lives.
“As we confront the obstacles ahead, let us remember that together, we are more powerful. Let us harness the same spirit of camaraderie and face the challenges that lie ahead. Let us embrace our diversity as a source of strength and stand united as one nation, one team, one family.
“Thank you, Nigeria, for your enduring support. Let us continue to pursue excellence, both on and off the pitch. #NigeriaSuperEagles #AFCON2023 #UnityInDiversity #StrongerTogether #Gratitude #NaijaPride”
