The incident which happened at Dejo Oyelese Street in the Bodija area of the city caused panic among residents.
The National Emergency Management Agency has disclosed that over 20 houses were affected in the explosion, adding that a suspected Improvised Explosive Device caused the explosion.
Afenirere’s position was contained in a statement by its National Organising Secretary, Kole Omololu; a copy of which was made available to PUNCH Online on Wednesday.
The statement titled, ‘Afenifere consoles Makinde, calls for FG assistance,’ read, “News of the explosion that rocked the ancient city of Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, on Tuesday, came to us with shock and sadness.

“The employee was immediately arrested for questioning.
