Breaking News: Pa Ayo Adebanjo, Afenifere-Leader, Confirmed Alive After False Death Rumors
In a recent development, the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, has clarified that its leader, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, is alive and well, contrary to earlier reports circulating on Sunday morning….CONTINUE READING
The organization’s National Secretary, Sola Ebisieni, dispelled the false news of Pa Adebanjo’s demise in a telephone interview, affirming that the revered leader is in good health. Ebisieni further revealed that he had been in close proximity with Pa Adebanjo just the previous night, emphasizing that the elder statesman had even directed him to issue a statement refuting the rumors.
Ebisieni unequivocally stated, “That is not correct. Pa Ayo Adebanjo, our leader, is alive, he is hale and hearty. He has even directed me this morning to issue a statement to that effect. I was with him last night in a meeting with other Yoruba leaders.”
The clarification comes amidst confusion stemming from the mistaken identity of Pa Adebanjo with Ayo Banjo, the former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, who passed away on Friday.
Ebisieni shed light on the mix-up, elucidating, “There is a mistaken identity. There was an announcement on the vice-chancellor from the University of Ibadan, Ayo Banjo, who died.”
This incident underscores the importance of verifying information before dissemination, especially in sensitive matters concerning public figures. The prompt clarification from Afenifere serves as a reminder of the need for accuracy and responsible reporting in the media.
As Pa Ayo Adebanjo continues to lead Afenifere and advocate for the interests of the Yoruba people, his well-being brings relief to supporters and well-wishers. The organization remains steadfast in its commitment to advancing the socio-cultural aspirations of the Yoruba ethnic group under his leadership.
