Akpabio, Uzodimma Secure APC Senate Tickets

Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma

According to Ireporter Online, Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, has emerged victorious in the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary for Akwa Ibom North-West, securing a dominant win across all 10 local government areas in the district. He reportedly polled a total of 121,425 votes, with detailed results showing 11,895 votes in Abak, 12,877 in Essien Udim, 9,148 in Etim Ekpo, 9,325 in Ika, 10,153 in Ikono, 12,174 in Ikot Ekpene, 8,874 in Ini, 10,062 in Obot Akara, 19,586 in Oruk Anam, and 17,328 in Ukanafun.

In Imo State, Governor Hope Uzodimma clinched the APC senatorial ticket for Imo West after securing an overwhelming 230,464 votes across the 12 local government areas in Orlu zone. The Returning Officer, Williams Kayode, declared him the winner, while former governor Rochas Okorocha managed 1,098 votes in the contest.

In Yobe State, former Senate President Ahmad Lawan was returned as the consensus APC senatorial candidate for Yobe North. He described his emergence as a victory for democracy, unity, and collective progress, while expressing gratitude to party stakeholders and Governor Mai Mala Buni for their support.

Meanwhile, in Abia South, Erondu Erondu secured the APC senatorial ticket with 16,640 votes, defeating Nyerere Anyim, Blessing Nwagba, and Paul Ikonne in a closely contested primary. He is expected to face Labour Party’s Enyinnaya Abaribe in the upcoming general election.
