Anthony Joshua Still Unsigned As Fury Grows Frustrated Over Delayed Mega Fight Talks
According to Ireporter Online, the long-anticipated heavyweight showdown between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury has once again been delayed, despite reports suggesting that the blockbuster fight is nearing completion.
A BBC report indicates that Fury’s camp has already signed the bout agreement, while Joshua is yet to append his signature, casting renewed uncertainty over the much-hyped all-British clash that has lingered in negotiations for years.
Tension between both fighters resurfaced following Fury’s stoppage victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov on April 11 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where Joshua was present ringside. Fury attempted to provoke a response by gesturing toward Joshua to enter the ring, but the former heavyweight champion remained seated.
Speaking backstage, Fury expressed frustration over the stalled negotiations, insisting Joshua avoided confrontation. He further suggested that the fight, long described as “ten years in the making,” could collapse again, adding that he may reconsider his boxing future if the bout fails to materialise.
Joshua’s delay in signing is believed to be influenced by recent inactivity and personal challenges. The former champion has fought just once in the past 18 months, securing a sixth-round stoppage win over Jake Paul in December. He also survived a tragic car accident that same month that claimed the lives of two close friends.
Meanwhile, a proposed tune-up fight against Kristian Prenga scheduled for July 25 in Riyadh is seen as a potential preparation bout ahead of a possible clash with Fury.
Fury, however, dismissed the idea of warm-up fights, insisting that boxing carries inherent risks regardless of preparation, stating that even interim bouts can end in unexpected defeat.
