President Bola Tinubu could have faced an easy defeat in the 2023 presidential election if former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi had collaborated.

According to Naija News, Ahmed shared these insights during an interview on the podcast “Mic On,” hosted by Nigerian journalist Seun Okinbaloye.

This statement comes amid growing speculation about the possibility of Peter Obi and Atiku forming a formidable coalition to challenge President Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 election.

When asked if he is worried about a potential alliance among the opposition, Ahmed responded affirmatively, stating, “God forbid that the two opposition leaders come together in 2027.”

He elaborated that he does not take potential threats lightly in politics, emphasizing that a united front from Atiku and Obi could jeopardize the APC’s chances in the next election. “Yes, it does concern me. I never underestimate any potential threat in this field. If you examine the votes from Atiku and Obi in 2023, we could have easily lost the election had they joined forces. God forbid they come together,” Ahmed remarked.
