According to Ireporter Online, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Primary Election Committee in Borno State has declared the House of Representatives primary for Askira-Uba/Hawul Federal Constituency inconclusive following a petition submitted by one of the aspirants, Audu Garba Zali.

The committee chairman, Prophet Jones Ode Erue, made the announcement while addressing journalists at the APC secretariat in Maiduguri on Sunday, stating that the decision became necessary after the complaint triggered an internal review process. He explained that the committee would not announce a final winner for the constituency until the appeal committee concludes its investigation and submits its report.

Erue noted that while the Askira-Uba/Hawul contest remains unresolved, the party successfully conducted and concluded primaries in other federal constituencies across the state. He disclosed that direct primaries were held in Bama/Ngala/Kalabalge and Maiduguri Metropolitan Federal Constituency, where Mustapha Abdullahi secured 20,509 votes to emerge winner in Bama/Ngala/Kalabalge, while Abdulkadir Rahis clinched the ticket in Maiduguri Metropolitan with 38,576 votes.

He further announced that five aspirants emerged through consensus arrangements in various constituencies, including Usman Zanna for Magumeri/Kaga/Gubio, Kaumi Umara Zulum for Dikwa/Konduga/Mafa, Ahmed Satomi for Jere, Ahmed Jaha for Gwoza/Chibok/Damboa, and Fati Kakenna for Mobbar/Guzamala/Abadam/Kukawa.

In addition, Bukar Talba emerged unopposed for Monguno/Marte/Nganzai Federal Constituency, while Mukhtar Betara Aliyu also secured an unopposed return ticket for Biu/Bayo/Kwaya Kusar/Shani Federal Constituency.

Erue added that the committee monitored the primaries across all 27 local government areas and 312 wards in Borno State, with officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies present to ensure compliance with electoral guidelines. He maintained that a final decision on the Askira-Uba/Hawul constituency will be made after the appeal committee reviews the petition submitted by Zali.
