APGA Postpones Soludo’s Victory Dance, Gives Reason

Despite the declaration of Prof Charles Soludo as the winner of the governorship election in Anambra by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), there’s no celebration of any sort in the State yet.

The reason, according to the chieftains of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) is because of the sit-at-home order by the indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB).

The leader of the pro-Biafra agitators Nnamdi Kanu appeared in court for trial on Wednesday and the group threatened to deal with anyone that disobeys the order.

Soludo was announced the winner Wednesday morning by the governorship election Returning Officer, Prof Florence Obi.

But the victory dance was cut short by IPOB’s sit-at-home order

Speaking with The Nation, the Chairman of Soludo’s 24 support groups in the State, Sir Jude Emecheta, said the security situation in the State would not allow such celebration at this period.

He said that everyone was afraid to come out for fear of being attacked or harmed by non- State actors, adding that there was time for everything

“The leader of IPOB went to court on Wednesday and before then, there had been threats from all angles and people decided to respect themselves by staying indoors.
