Arewa Youths Slam Bauchi Governor, Demand End to Baseless Criticism of President Tinubu

Arewa Young Leaders Forum (AYLF) has issued a stern warning to Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, urging him to stop his unwarranted attacks on President Bola Tinubu. The forum, in a statement signed by its President, Alhaji Ibrahim Maikifi, and General Secretary, Dr. Anthony Apochi, expressed deep disappointment over Governor Mohammed’s recent remarks suggesting that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) might invite President Tinubu to be their campaign director for the 2027 elections.

The AYLF criticized Governor Mohammed’s continuous disapproval of President Tinubu’s policies, labeling them as “anti-masses.” The forum dismissed these claims as baseless and unfounded, accusing the governor of engaging in political mischief aimed at inciting unrest.

They went further to allege that Governor Mohammed might be behind the ongoing protests against President Tinubu, using his position and resources to stir up chaos across the country. “This is a clear case of political mischief and an attempt to incite unrest and chaos in the country,” the forum stated.

In contrast, the AYLF praised President Tinubu for his reforms, particularly in agriculture, water resources, and aviation. They noted that these reforms are already bearing fruit, contributing to increased food production, reducing hunger, addressing inflation, and enhancing safety for both citizens and foreigners.

The forum didn’t hold back in its critique of Governor Mohammed’s administration, accusing him of failing to deliver basic amenities to the people of Bauchi State. They viewed his recent actions as an attempt to divert attention from his own governance failures.

“We strongly believe that Governor Mohammed’s utterances are a deliberate attempt to distract Nigerians from his own failures in governance,” the AYLF asserted.

The AYLF demanded that Governor Mohammed retract his statements and apologize to President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration. They warned that failure to do so would provoke resistance from well-meaning Nigerians.

“We call on Governor Mohammed to retract his statement and apologize to President Tinubu and the APC administration,” the forum emphasized.

The AYLF also called on relevant authorities to monitor the governor’s actions closely and take necessary measures to prevent further disruptions. They highlighted the failure of leaders like Governor Mohammed as a key factor in the lack of development and infrastructure across Nigeria.

Concluding their statement, the AYLF reaffirmed their unwavering support for President Tinubu and the APC administration, pledging to resist any efforts by Governor Mohammed to destabilize the country.

“We stand solidly behind President Tinubu and the APC administration, and we will not allow Governor Mohammed’s antics to destabilize the country,” they declared.

The forum urged Governor Mohammed to focus on fulfilling his responsibilities to the people of Bauchi State rather than engaging in political games that jeopardize the nation’s stability.
