Atiku stated, “A disturbing video of malnourished children brought before a Federal High Court on the orders of the Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government has come to my attention. The shocking image, reminiscent of a Nazi concentration camp, highlights the disregard this administration has for the dignity and rights of vulnerable Nigerians, especially children.”

Quoting Section 11 of the Child Rights Act, Atiku emphasized that every child is entitled to protection from abuse, neglect, and degrading treatment. He decried the government’s treatment of the young detainees, who had reportedly endured dehumanizing conditions during the three months they were held before their arraignment.

“It is appalling that a man who once claimed to fight for democracy now demonizes those exercising their right to protest, even children,” Atiku remarked. He further stated that children affected by harsh policies have the constitutional right to peaceful protest, noting that the treatment they received only validates the reasons for their demonstration.
