Atiku Fires Back at Bode George: “Focus on Tinubu’s Failures, Not 2027 Politics
Former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Waziri Atiku Abubakar, has strongly reacted to Chief Bode George’s suggestion that he should refrain from running for the presidency in 2027.
Atiku, in a statement reported by DAILY POST, expressed his disapproval of discussing future elections when the current administration has yet to deliver any significant benefits to Nigerians. He emphasized that it is inappropriate to focus on the 2027 presidential race when the promises made for 2023 remain unfulfilled.
“It is insensitive to be talking about 2027 now when the 2023 mandate has not yielded any tangible benefits for Nigerians, who are now far worse off in every facet of life,” Atiku stated. He further urged Bode George to redirect his attention to advising President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on reassessing certain policies that have exacerbated poverty and division in the country.
Atiku’s response reflects the growing discontent among Nigerians who feel that the current government has failed to address critical issues, and he believes that political figures should be more focused on resolving these issues rather than engaging in early political maneuvering for the 2027 elections.
As Nigeria continues to face economic challenges and social unrest, Atiku’s call to prioritize the present over future politics resonates with many citizens who are eager for meaningful change.
