Babayaro maintained that Iwobi remains one of the most influential players in the current national team under head coach Eric Chelle, insisting that his contributions are often overlooked despite consistent performances. He expressed concern over the level of negativity directed at the Fulham star, stressing that such assessments fail to capture his true value to the squad.

The former international goalkeeper highlighted Nigeria’s recent encounter against Tanzania as a clear example of Iwobi’s importance, noting that the midfielder delivered an outstanding performance that set the tone for the team.
