According to reports, the onslaught began around 9 pm on Friday, lasting for hours as the bandits wreaked havoc. Houses, motorcycles, and food banks were set ablaze as the assailants, riding motorcycles in groups of three, fired shots upon entering the communities.

As of now, the Niger State Police Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, has not issued a statement regarding the incident.

Meanwhile, in a separate but equally tragic incident in Niger State’s capital, Minna, Alhaji Muftau Mohammed collapsed and died at Morris Police Division while attempting to secure the release of his two sons, Mubarak Ahmed and Yusuf Mohammed. The brothers had been taken into custody by the police around 11 pm on Wednesday while sleeping outside their house due to the intense heat.

Yusuf recounted that they were lying down in front of their house when three police patrol vans passed by. Later, the police returned and arrested them, leading to the heartbreaking events that unfolded at the police station.
