The victims, including a pregnant woman and three children, have been in captivity for over a month after being abducted at Kuduru Extension.
A community leader, speaking anonymously to Daily Trust, revealed that the bandits have issued a chilling threat to end the lives of two hostages if the N290 million is not paid promptly. The bandits specified the additional items required for the release, including bags of rice, packs of noodles, cough syrups, antibiotics, bedsheets, and cardigans.
The dire situation has prompted the community to plead with law enforcement authorities, urging Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun and Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, to intervene and secure the safe release of the hostages.
The community leader expressed concern for the well-being of the captives, citing the harsh weather conditions and treatment in captivity, leading to health deterioration among the victims. The urgency of the situation calls for immediate and effective action to ensure the safety of the abducted residents.
