The victims, numbering at least 55, were guests escorting the bride home when the assailants struck.

Tragically, three local security volunteers lost their lives in the frantic attempt to rescue the abducted guests. Sources reveal that the hoodlums targeted those crowded in an open van, known as a canter vehicle, with most of the victims being friends of the bride. Some managed to escape by leaping off the moving van during the attack.

Basiru Musa, the Chairman of Dandume Local Government Area, confirmed the distressing incident, shedding light on the prevalent security challenges in the Sabuwa area. Bandits, along with their accomplices who often serve as informants, have been causing havoc in the region.

While unconfirmed reports suggest that a few kidnapped women may have escaped, the chairman pledges to verify and provide updates on the situation. The bandits intercepted the women, who were from Dandume, on their way from Sabuwa Local Government Area, adding to the escalating security concerns in Katsina State.
