The PDP is reportedly gearing up for violence as the Edo Elections loom large, and the internet is ablaze with indignation. The deputy director general on Media of PDP campaign council, Rev Olu Martins, has found himself in the eye of the storm after a video of him issuing threats to opposition parties went viral.

Rev Olu Martins, who has clearly strayed far from the path of peace, was caught on camera warning that the PDP will hunt down any opposition members who dare not toe the party line. In an era where we should be promoting peaceful democratic processes, this reverend seems to have mistaken the pulpit for a boxing ring.

The Call to Action: Authorities, Wake Up!

The populace is not taking this lightly. Cries for intervention have erupted, demanding that the DSS, Police, INEC, and other security agencies swing into action. The man of the cloth has shown himself to be anything but holy, and it’s high time he faces the consequences. His threats, especially his ominous sign-off – “who no know go know and who too know go KPEME, their Fada” – have sent shivers down spines.

Decoding the Threat

Let’s break it down: “Who no know go know” suggests that ignorance is no shield against the PDP’s wrath, while “who too know go KPEME” – where “KPEME” means death – implies that even those well-informed aren’t safe. Ending with “their Fada” adds an extra layer of gangster-style menace. This is the height of thuggery, cultism, and gangsterism – a triple threat that no well-meaning Nigerian should condone.

Why the PDP Should Face the International Court at The Hague

Given these threats, one might wonder if the PDP is angling for a guest spot at The Hague. Why not? If threatening violence against political opponents isn’t a crime against humanity, what is? The International Criminal Court has a duty to take note when political actors resort to intimidation, violence, and threats of death to secure their positions. Rev Olu Martins’ rhetoric is not just political bluster; it is a dangerous incitement to violence that puts lives at risk and undermines the democratic process.
