Bauchi Police Arrest Man For Allegedly Stabbing Brother To Death

The Bauchi State Police Command has apprehended Isyaku Babale, a 30-year-old resident of Anguwan Dawaki in Bauchi Metropolis, following accusations of fatally stabbing his brother. Wakil explained that the suspect was detained based on information received by the Divisional Police Officer of Township Police Station, Bauchi, prompting the dispatch of detectives to the scene.

“The victim was rushed to Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Teaching Hospital but was certified dead by a medical doctor,” Wakil stated.

He further revealed that the detectives initiated a manhunt for the suspect, leading to his arrest near Kasuwan Shanu area of Bauchi metropolis.

“Preliminary investigations conducted by the detectives revealed that the suspect used a knife and stabbed his elder brother on March 31, 2024, at about 0400hrs following an argument between them,” Wakil elaborated.

According to Wakil, both siblings engaged in a fight, and despite attempts at mediation, the suspect resorted to using a sharp object, suspected to be a knife, to stab the victim in the stomach.

“Further investigations revealed that both men were always fighting using dangerous weapons,” Wakil added.

The Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa, has ordered a discreet investigation into the incident to ascertain additional motives behind the suspect’s actions before proceeding with prosecution.
