Bauchi Police Chief Urges Peaceful Protests Amid Concerns Over Vandalism
Bauchi State Commissioner of Police, Auwal Musa Muhammad, has issued a stern warning to individuals participating in the nationwide protests within the state. In a recent statement, Muhammad emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and public order during the demonstrations.
The statement, released by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Wakili, addresses recent incidents in Azare Town where some individuals exploited the protest to engage in vandalism, destruction, and looting of public and government properties. Muhammad condemned these actions and stressed the need for protesters to adhere to peaceful conduct.
Despite these disturbances, the Commissioner reassured the public that the situation in Bauchi metropolis and other parts of the state is currently calm. He announced plans for increased police presence at strategic locations throughout the state to ensure security and prevent any further escalation of violence.
Auwal Musa Muhammad reaffirmed the Bauchi Police Command’s commitment to safeguarding public order and preventing any disruptions caused by the ongoing protests.
