Bauchi Police Nab Man Over Alleged Assault Of 14-Year-Old Girl

The Bauchi State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of a 29-year-old man, Sadiq Abubakar Yusuf, over allegations of sexual assault involving a 14-year-old girl in Guru Village, Bauchi State.

According to Ireporter Online, the Command disclosed the development in a statement issued on Tuesday by its Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, noting that the case was first reported at the ‘B’ Division, GRA, Bauchi, on May 15, 2026, at about 5:00 p.m.

It was gathered that the complaint was lodged by a 45-year-old man who alleged that the suspect, identified as his nephew, lured his daughter out of their residence in the early hours of May 14 before allegedly committing the offence.

The police further stated that operatives acted on the report, swiftly arrested the suspect, and ensured that the victim was taken to the Police Clinic for medical attention.

The Command added that the suspect has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further interrogation and possible prosecution.

Reaffirming its commitment to tackling crimes against women and minors, the Command stressed its zero-tolerance stance on sexual and gender-based violence, assuring that the matter would be thoroughly investigated in line with due process.

Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, also urged residents to continue reporting cases of abuse and other criminal activities to the nearest police station for prompt action.
