Among those present at the meeting were PDP’s Acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, the Chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees, Adolphus Wabara, and other party stakeholders. Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, and Bauchi Governor, Bala Mohammed, were also in attendance.

The specific agenda of the meeting was not disclosed to the media. However, it marked the first time since the general elections that Atiku Abubakar had met with PDP governors and other prominent party members.

Currently, the PDP and its presidential candidate are in court to challenge the victory of President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), with the Presidential Elections Petition Court reserving judgment in the case.

Furthermore, the PDP has been facing a serious leadership crisis, leading to the removal of Senator Iyorchia Ayu as its National Chairman.
