BREAKING: Jubilation In APC Over News On Kwankwaso

In a significant development, the Kano Election Petition Tribunal has officially declared Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the Kura/Madobi/Garum-Malam federal constituency seat in Kano state.

Headed by Justice Flora Azinge, the three-member panel supported the petition put forth by the APC candidate, consequently invalidating the victory of Detti Yusuf Umar of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

The tribunal established the NNPP candidate’s disqualification based on his failure to resign from his position at Bayero University, Kano prior to accepting the party’s candidature.

Initially, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared the NNPP as the victor of the February 2023 National Assembly elections, having surpassed Kwankwaso of the APC.

In response, Kwankwaso contested the election’s outcome and submitted a petition seeking the annulment of the results.
