Breaking: NDLEA Apprehends Cocaine Courier At Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport

In a significant interception, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has apprehended a 40-year-old businessman, Ejike Chibuke Solomon, with 1.45 kilograms of cocaine at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. The suspect, attempting to board a flight to Vietnam via Addis Ababa, was caught with the illicit substance concealed in his luggage.

The NDLEA disclosed this groundbreaking arrest in a statement released by Femi Babafemi, the agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy. Alongside Solomon’s apprehension, Babafemi announced a series of coordinated raids on drug syndicates in Lagos, resulting in the seizure of methamphetamine, cocaine, and heroin.

The agency’s operatives raided multiple hideouts, including the residences of Esimone Amachukwu Christopher and Ebele Edwin Iwuegbunam, where significant quantities of narcotics were confiscated. Additionally, NDLEA teams conducted successful operations in Kogi, Ogun, Lagos, Borno, and Abia states, seizing large consignments of cannabis, tramadol, and other illicit drugs.

Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd), commended the officers and men involved in these operations, praising their dedication and effectiveness in combatting drug trafficking and abuse. The coordinated efforts underscore NDLEA’s commitment to curbing the drug menace and safeguarding communities nationwide.

These developments highlight the NDLEA’s relentless pursuit of drug traffickers and its determination to dismantle illicit networks operating within and beyond Nigeria’s borders.
