Breaking: NIPR Dissolves PRCAN Executive And Calls For New Elections

The details were shared in a statement from the institute’s Director of Public Relations, Stanley Ogadigo, in Abuja. He noted that the decision followed a comprehensive review of PRCAN’s operations.

Ogadigo explained that the dissolution was in accordance with legal provisions and was prompted by concerns regarding tenure extensions and declining performance. He emphasized the necessity of revitalizing and repositioning the association to better align with NIPR’s strategic goals.

Additionally, NIPR appointed Nkechi Ali-Balogun, a Fellow of the institute and the Founder/CEO of NECCI Consults, as the new Chairperson of the Council Committee on the Revitalisation of PRCAN. She has been tasked with overseeing PRCAN’s activities and ensuring that a fair election is held by April 30, 2025.

The statement continued, “The newly formed PRCAN Revitalisation Committee, inaugurated today, comprises the following members: Karibi George, Dr. Ahmad Sajoh, Hajia Lami Tumaka, Chido Nwakanma, and Mr. Hassan Abdul. Other members include Bolaji Okusaga, Adetola Odusote, Muyiwa Akintunde, Dr. Sophia Horsfall, Mojisola Saka, and Dr. Dare Ogunyombo, who will serve as Member/Secretary.”

The NIPR also reached out to the outgoing president of PRCAN, Mr. Israel Opayemi, in a letter dated December 21, 2024, expressing gratitude for his service and urging his cooperation to ensure a smooth transition, which is vital for revitalizing the association.
