BREAKING: Sim Fubara Resumes as Rivers Governor, Thanks Tinubu for “Unshaking Support”
April 1st, 2025 | Port Harcourt
In a surprising turn of events that has left both political pundits and comedians scratching their heads, Governor Siminalayi Fubara has reportedly resumed office today in Rivers State after what insiders are calling a “brief moment of national reflection.”
In an official statement released early this morning, Fubara expressed heartfelt gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his “fatherly patience and unshaking support in turbulent tides.” He added, “I have seen the light, and the light wears a cap and holds a broom.”
The governor, who had been caught in a heated power struggle with his political godfather and assembly loyalists, shocked the state by appearing at Government House with a peace dove, an APC-branded agbada, and—wait for it—a framed photo of Tinubu above his desk.
Sources say the reconciliation meeting was brokered in a secret location identified only as “Bole & Fish Junction” where grievances were settled over spicy catfish pepper soup and a chorus of “On Your Mandate We Shall Stand.”
Reacting to the news, the Rivers State Assembly released a statement titled: “We Knew He’d Come Around,” while former allies of Wike were seen googling “how to join APC without anybody noticing.”
Meanwhile, the Federal Government has declared April 1st a National Day of Political Forgiveness to mark the historic moment.
When asked what changed his mind, Fubara smiled and said, “Sometimes, you just need to see the handwriting on the ₦1000 note.”
