BREAKING: Supreme Court Insists Nnamdi Kanu Must Face Trial, Overturns Appeal Court Judgement
The Supreme Court has affirmed the Federal Government’s appeal challenging the decision of the Appeal Court that dismissed charges against Nnamdi Kanu.

In its decision, the Supreme Court ruled that Kanu must undergo trial at the Federal High Court.

Justice Emmanuel Agim, delivering the judgment prepared by Justice Garba Lawal, stated that the Court of Appeal erred in determining that Kanu couldn’t be retried due to the Federal Government’s illegal actions following the invasion of his residence.

The Court also asserted that even though the Nigerian Government’s actions in unlawfully extraditing Kanu from Kenya were reckless, they did not prevent any court from proceeding with the trial.
Justice Lawal emphasized that the lawsuit seeking Kanu’s release did not cite any Nigerian law, and the appropriate recourse would be for Kanu to pursue a civil case against the alleged unlawful abduction, rather than obstructing the court’s authority to continue with his trial on criminal charges.
