Breaking: Telecom Giant MTN Has Closed All Offices And Service Centers Across Nigeria

The Nation reported that the decision followed the vandalism of the company’s offices by disgruntled customers whose lines were disconnected due to the government’s NIN-SIM linkage policy.

On Monday, a group of irate customers tore down the fence at an MTN Nigeria office in Festac Town, Lagos.

The incident occurred after subscribers swarmed the MTN office to complain about the recent blocking of their telephone lines by the telecommunications company.

In other parts of the country, frustrated subscribers gathered at MTN offices to express their anger and disappointment over the telecom company’s blocking of phone numbers.

Confirming the closure, a brief statement on X (formerly Twitter) from MTN read: “Yello customer, please be informed that our shops nationwide will be closed today, 30th July 2024.”
