Numerous social media platforms had propagated unverified information alleging the detention of Aisha Ahmad by the DSS on charges related to the alleged fraudulent acquisition of shares in several Nigerian banks.

According to these reports, Ahmad was implicated in the shares acquisition of Polaris Bank, Titan Bank/Union Bank, along with an alleged $300 million fund for the acquisition of Union Bank sourced from Titan Bank.

However, the DSS took to its X (formerly Twitter) handle to issue a concise statement on Thursday, categorically denying the arrest of Aisha Ahmad or any other current or former CBN official within the last 48 hours.

“The DSS did not, in the last 48 hours, arrest any former or present official of the CBN,” the statement clarified.
