Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Public Communication, has dismissed claims suggesting the President intends to turn Nigeria into a one-party state

This comes in response to remarks made by former President Goodluck Jonathan, who on Wednesday cautioned against any move that could lead Nigeria towards single-party dominance. The recent wave of defections from opposition parties to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has further fueled such concerns among political observers.

Taking to his (formerly Twitter) handle, Bwala described these accusations as baseless and the product of “lazy politicians.”

He pointed out that President Tinubu has demonstrated inclusivity by working with governors from opposition parties without bias. He cited examples where Tinubu either personally or through representatives commissioned projects in states led by non-APC governors, including Governor Alex Otti of the Labour Party in Abia, Governor Peter Mbah of the PDP in Enugu, and Governor Chukwuma Soludo of APGA in Anambra.

All three governors belong to opposition parties, yet Mr. President has worked with them unconditionally to move the country forward. Meanwhile, idle politicians peddle falsehoods about a one-party agenda. President Tinubu remains focused and undistracted.”
