CP Kanayo V. Uzuegbu Assumes Office As Enugu’s New Commissioner Of Police

Enugu State has welcomed its 28th Commissioner of Police, CP Kanayo V. Uzuegbu, who has taken over the reins of leadership from CP Ahmed Ammani. The outgoing CP has been redeployed to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

Hailing from Umuaka Community in Njaba Local Government Area of Imo State, CP Kanayo is armed with an impressive academic background.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree (B.A., Hons) from the University of Port-Harcourt, a Higher Diploma in Strategic Studies from the University of Maiduguri, and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) Degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from the University of Nigeria.

Commencing his journey in the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (C/ASP), he underwent training at the Police Academy Kaduna.

Over his distinguished career, CP Kanayo has held diverse positions in various State and Zonal Commands, as well as at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

Among his notable roles, he has served as Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in multiple Divisions across different State Commands, Provost Marshall of Benue State Command, and Unit/Squadron Commander of No. 15 PMF Ilorin, among others.

His extensive experience has also seen him hold positions of Assistant Commissioner of Police Operations, Area Commander, and Director of various units.

Furthermore, CP Kanayo has undergone an array of training programs and workshops, delving into areas like combat, strategic leadership, terrorism and counterterrorism, security studies, and human rights.

As he steps into his role, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu pledges to instill a proactive and people-centric policing approach in Enugu State.
