David Beckham Becomes UK’s First Billionaire Sportsman — Historic Financial Milestone

According to Ireporter Online, former England captain David Beckham has been officially named the United Kingdom’s first billionaire sportsman after the latest Sunday Times Rich List placed the combined wealth of him and his wife, Victoria Beckham, at approximately £1.185 billion.

The report positions the Beckham couple as the second-richest sporting figures in Britain, trailing only the family of former Formula 1 executive Bernie Ecclestone, whose fortune is estimated at £2 billion.

Among other notable figures, professional golfer Rory McIlroy ranks seventh with an estimated £325 million following a series of major victories, while businessman Jim Ratcliffe dropped in ranking after a reported decline in wealth to £15.194 billion.

Beckham’s expanding business portfolio, particularly his co-ownership of Inter Miami CF—valued at about $1.45 billion—has been a key contributor to his rising fortune. The 51-year-old, who was knighted in November, also maintains lucrative endorsement partnerships with global brands such as Adidas and Hugo Boss.

Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton ranks fifth with £435 million, while football star Harry Kane and tennis champion Andy Murray share tenth place with £110 million each.
