Delta: Suspected Yahoo Boy Kills Four, Injures Child in Fatal Hit-and-Run
Tragedy struck in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State on Tuesday as a suspected internet fraudster, commonly referred to as a “Yahoo Boy”, allegedly ran over and killed four people, leaving a young boy critically injured.
The incident occurred along the Oteri-Ovwor Road. Eyewitnesses reported that the suspect was driving a Mercedes Benz GLK at high speed when he collided with a commercial motorcycle carrying three passengers. The rider and all three passengers died instantly.
A young schoolboy walking along the roadside was also hit and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Ughelli.
The suspect reportedly abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene before authorities could arrive.
As of the time of filing this report, the Delta State Police Command had not released an official statement. Efforts to reach Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, via calls and messages were unsuccessful.
