Details Emerge As NAF Aircraft Crashes In Benue

A Nigerian Air Force FT-7NI trainer aircraft crashed in Makurdi, the capital of Benue State.

The incident occurred on Friday evening during a routine training exercise.

According to the NAF Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, both pilots aboard the aircraft survived and were taken to a military facility for observation.

Fortunately, there were no fatalities or damage to property in the area of impact.

The two pilots are currently under observation at the NAF Base Hospital in Makurdi.

In response to the crash, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Hasan Abubakar, has established a Board of Inquiry to investigate the immediate and underlying causes of the incident.
